Learn SymptoPro

SymptoPro is a symptothermal method of Fertility Awareness (also known as Natural Family Planning). It is a system of determining when a couple is fertile and infertile every cycle based on charting cervical mucus, daily temperature and cervical position (optional). SymptoPro can be used for avoiding or achieving pregnancy and health monitoring.  The method was originally developed by Northwest Family Services in 1977 in partnership with researcher, Dr. Josef Roetzer. Modern Fertility Awareness Based Methods (FABMs) have proven to be up to 99%+ effective with perfect use.

This course involves:

• three live, online classes lasting 1.5-2 hours each. (Classes are spaced two weeks apart)

• private chart consultation after each of the first six cycles (or as needed)

Spouses/Partners are encouraged to attend.

"What is the daily routine?"

• Take your waking temperature at approximately the same time every morning. (Tempdrop wearable thermometer may be used at client's discretion.)

• Take note of sensation at the vulva throughout the day.

• Observe and test visible cervical mucus during bathroom visits.

• Check cervical opening before bed. (optional)

"Is this course right for me?"

• You have discontinued use of hormonal birth control and IUDs before beginning chart reviews.

• You are able to avoid unprotected intercourse during possibly fertile times if avoiding pregnancy. For those avoiding pregnancy, abstinence during method identified times of fertility is a key factor in achieving highest efficacy. Use of barrier methods and/or withdrawal is a departure from correct use of the method and lowers expected efficacy. 

• You are open to using an official paper chart or the Read Your Body app (3 month subscription included with course) using approved template.

Lifetime of Support

Chart reviews: Brief check-ins will be available each cycle to ask quick questions or to review your chart interpretation.

In-depth follow-up: Occasionally a more thorough consultation is required after the initial six cycles. Additional follow-ups may be scheduled in 30m blocks for a modest fee.
